About The Book

If you are suffering from a broken heart or know someone who has recently lost a beloved pet, then this e-book is for you.

Losing a pet is more than losing a companion—it’s losing a trusted friend, a source of unconditional love, and a cherished member of the family. Yet, in a world that often underestimates the depth of this bond, many grieving pet parents are left to navigate their trauma and sorrow alone, without the support they so desperately need.

There is HOPE to HEAL !

The glaring lack of resources and understanding for grieving pet parents gave wings to this concise, easy to read, e-book.
“Heartfelt Paw Prints: Coping with Pet Loss & Grief” guides you like a compassionate friend through the three profound phases of pet loss:

  • The raw Trauma of Separation
  • The deep Valley of Grief
  • The Journey toward Healing

Through gentle insights, René offers practical guidance, and soul-stirring reflections. This e-book is a lifeline for anyone mourning the loss of their pet. It offers a compassionate space to understand your story of trauma and grief, celebrate your pet’s memory, and rediscover hope, one step at a time.

This is more than a guide. It’s a tribute to the love that forever links our hearts to theirs. Healing Heartfelt Paw Prints…

Do animals go to heaven

Chapter 1

I bet when God created animals, He looked at some species, chuckled in His wisdom and designated them to become the real deal fluffy toys, friends and companions of His children with huge personalities and quirks to go… They would bring us great joy, reminding us of the goodness of their Creator. They have souls, the ability to LOVE, CHOOSE and OBEY and perhaps it may just be these very qualities that makes it so easy for us to identify with them and they with us.

Some people just don’t have the “gift” to appreciate or connect with animals, but there is a planet full of people who do, and deeply so. It transcends cultures and genders and everything in between. It is a mind and heart connection that makes you fall in love from day one …

I always wondered how we could help our loved ones cope with the loss of a pet-kid, and this book is the answer I've been looking for.

Christiaan B.

About the author.

From an early age, my love for animals has been a constant in my life. I earned my BA in Psychology from the University of Pretoria in 1983, driven not only by a passion for understanding the human mind but also by a deep desire to support emotional well-being.

Years of ministry work strengthened my connection with people, ultimately leading me to a pivotal realization—our bonds with animals are just as profound, and the emotional welfare of pet owners is an often-overlooked need.

After retiring, I founded Petkidz turning my lifelong love for animals into a meaningful venture. One of my first projects was this book—created to help and support pet parents worldwide as they navigate the grief and loss of their beloved companions. My hope is that it provides comfort, understanding, and reassurance to those who need it most.
